When it first happened I felt so
broken that I wasn't sure that I
would
survive it. Every thing I thought
I knew was turned inside out
and upside
down. 10+ yrs later, I still have
very broken pieces, but I also
have a new
sense of purpose-this
organization and bringing
survivors together to
help each other. I have been
studying this stuff for most of
those 10 yrs
now and have learned a lot,
hopefully, I can share some of
it and help
someone else get through
some of the worst moments in
their learning to
live with this. Tawna Righter
In Search Of Hope

With broken heart and
shattered spirit in hand,
I began a journey
in search of hope.
I felt sure that hope existed
somewhere,
I had known it once before.
But I could no longer
remember
from where it came.
Now, I felt sure
that if I did not
somehow find
at least a spark of hope;
I would not be able to hold on
or survive this agony called
grief.
I searched and searched,
but returned without hope.
With no where else to look, I
sought the life/God source
within.
There, I found
that a tiny spark
of hope existed, waiting,
barely glowing,
Once recognized,
it was fanned by the
desperate need
& desire for it’s continued
existence and growth.
Soon, it began to glow
brighter, small measure
by small measure.
Slowly, quietly, almost
unnoticed,
that healing spark
became a flame.
In it, hope burned brighter,
and a broken heart and spirit
began to live again.

Our Mission

Our mission, in part, is to create Awareness
within our local, national and global
Communities regarding the difficulties faced by
families, orphans and other survivors (anyone
whose life has been touched) of the tragic
murder-suicide epidemic sweeping across
America and the globe. To provide Grief
Recovery Outreach programs to our
community to aid any and all bereaved by
losses that keep them from moving on with
their lives.

Our mission is to provide the vast array of
necessary Support Services, from Grief
Recovery Outreach programs, to help in
finding; trauma scene clean-up to on-going
counseling and education, that are needed by
those who have suffered greatly; individuals,
families and friends, neighborhoods, and
communities which include emergency
response personnel, law enforcement, school
faculty and children, and church members,
who have had their lives forever changed by
these increasingly recurring tragedies.  As the
only organization with Certified Grief Recovery
Specialists in the state of Oregon, part of our
mission contributing to our community, by
offering free Grief Recovery Outreach
programs to anyone who is bereaved by loss
of any kind.

Our mission further entails extensive research
studies regarding all facets of murder-suicides.
We believe that “Informing to Prevent” is
possible by gathering, discerning and
distributing valuable statistical data regarding
potential risks,  known warning signs and
outcomes to “at risk” populations within our
global communities. Currently, according to
data collected in our 2009 study, somewhere
in America a murder-suicide event occurs
about every 12 hours; leaving countless
numbers of Americans in need of help to not
only survive the initial aftermath, but also to
learn live their lives with dignity, hope, and a
small measure of peace.
